Bo Weavil

5-piece traditional folk and blues act from Lancashire, Bo Weavil showcase old time and country blues from the 1920s and 30s, creating good times from happy hoedown to folk festivals.  Described by Band on the Wall as ‘a positive string orchestra with melodica and harmonica thrown in for good measure’, they are pure foot-stomping excellence with a kick!

Leonie Kate Higgins

Manchester-based singer, songwriter, writer, and particularly  beautiful cellist Léonie Kate Higgins is one fifth of all-female performance group Eggs Collective (razor-tongued cabaret) and one third of band Geddes Loom (singing, beatbox, cello, guitar, and technology).

Léonie has performed at theatres and festivals nationally including Royal Exchange Theatre, Southbank Centre,  The Marquee Club and of course, Shangri La!

Ben Mellor

Former BBC Radio 4 National Poetry Slam winner, Ben is a regular performer at Shangri La! and a charismatic purveyor of high quality words for poetry, plays, stories and general musings.  An Edinburgh Fringe favourite, he is the creator and host of highly-acclaimed Manchester spoken word and performance night Pen:Chant. “A pure undiluted talent. Concentrated.” says Lemn Sissay and we totes agree!
